What I Wore // neutral tones and a bit on strength

Hey guys! Here's another post where I was headed out somewhere with my husband and decided it was a good spot to stand around for a couple minutes so he could take a few pictures of me.haha Only today's post s a little special! I'm wearing my beautiful necklace from Gemvara that I custom designed and just recently received in the mail, and I wanna tell you really quick the story behind my choosing it!
You guys knew this post was coming if you read this one here about the ahh-mazing chance I received from Gemvara to design my very own custom piece, and even with all the tons and tons of possible variations (with over 20 natural gems and 9 different precious metals in a crazy amount of settings!I knew from the start that I wanted to design a dainty necklace that I could wear often, and also that I wanted it to be symbolic of something meaningful and important to me!

I went with the Pure Double Pendent with two rose quartz gems in an 18K white gold setting, and I loved the pendent most paired with the 1.5mm rope chain. I love it so much!
We may choose to buy or are given pieces of jewelry for many different reasons, but they always carry that memory and remind us of the occasion for which they were purchased.

At any rate (and I don't mean to be a downer here) my reason in picking the rose quartz was to subtlety represent Breast Cancer, and that every time I wore it it would serve as a reminder not of the pain and heartache that my family has suffered because of the disease, but to remind me that I come from a long line of fighters- women that were and are so strong.
I have wonderful examples in my mother, my aunts, my grandmothers of taking on hardships and tough times and plowing on through, and I wanted to have my special piece from Gemvara to remind me that I can be strong and brave for myself and my own family:) I feel strength and positivity when I wear my necklace, and it's so much more mine because I chose every aspect of it!
So, that being said I'd encourage you to head over to Gemvara and browse around a little, customizing your favorite pieces with your choice of precious stones and metals, and think of what your own special reason for yourself or for a loved one might be in getting one of their beautiful pieces!

As a special bonus Gemvara has extended their original 15% off promo code for you guys, but it's only active for the next 72 hours! Just follow this link here and the code will automatically activate!!

Also don't forget that they have free shipping always and there's 101 day returns even on engraved items! Here are a few more of my favorites from the site that I would love to own someday soon:

Well thank you so much for visiting today, and I know I don't usually talk about deep things here on the blog, so I hope this wasn't too out in left field for any of you! I'd love to hear what piece you'd customize and for what purpose (even if it's just to reward yourself for reaching a goal, etc!), and also if you feel you'd like to share a story or experience with Breast Cancer we'd really love to hear it! xo
