Weekend Wrap-up

This Week: we've been spending every none-burning hour of the day outside on blankets, on the swings or the trampoline, walking down the avenues, and breathing in those perfect Summer breezes we've been wishing for for months. I've felt this strong urge that it's suddenly time to decorate my house a bit more now that we've been here a couple years, and I'm feeling the effects of Spring cleaning fever even though it's nearly July. I can't wait to post updates with the kids rooms, my sewing/workroom, the office, and other rooms that are getting little make-overs. Power drills and paint brushes have been in my hands more this past week than not I think.haha and I'm loving every minute of it! Oh, also very important and fun: John was moved to a 'big boy' bed on Tuesday, and has been sleeping even more than before I think (which is like 15 hours a night.haha). It's been a great week!

To-do's and Goals for the Week:
- keep up with my workouts

- paint nails with the girls
- fold those baskets of clean laundry
- paint the girls dresser
- start a new book (favorites? :))
- empty my phone
- plan our cabin getaway
- catch up on emails
- take a couple naps when the kids do
- take more time our for girlfriends
- finish a sewing project

A Few Facts:

  • Lydia's first word was 'Dada', which has also been my other three kiddies first word:)
  • I grew up always wanting to play the violin, but since Martin can play so well, I've no longer felt a desire to learn it, like I get my fix from him. Does that make sense?
  • I really never listen to voice-mails, I'd rather just call them right back
  • We went to Maleficent for out date night and really enjoyed it! Angelina did such an awesome job, as usual. Totally called the twist at the end though:)
Thanks for stopping by, and before you leave I'd love for you to leave a fact or two about yourself, so I can stop by and visit your blog! Also I have lots of fun goodies coming this week , so come back soon:)

  1. Most of your to-dos and goals for the week sound more like fun than work! I wish I had such positive things to plan. My to-dos mostly involve going to work and trying to remember to do the dishes, haha.

I really enjoyed Maleficent as well. I'm actually not a huge Angelina fan, but I was blown away by her performance. She definitely made the film! I couldn't imagine another actress pulling it off like her.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. I love summer home improvement. Everything feels so much better when you complete a project.
Fun fact: I was born on an island off of Seattle, Washington but raised in the Florida panhandle where my family is from.

I'm also still learning to navigate the blogging world. But I love it!

  3. YES to summer improvement! I've been totally feeling the spring clean vibe (or maybe it's a nesting vibe?) and I've been organizing and cleaning like mad around here. Have a great week!

  4. I can SO relate about the "spring" cleaning. So many ideas! We've been in our current home (apartment) for almost 2 years, and I'm just itching to add more personal touches and tweak those furniture arrangements.

I'm from Massachusetts, but I've been a missionary in Russia for 10 years! I think I was initially drawn to your blog by the awesome hair tutorials.

One book I read recently was "Surprised by Motherhood" by Lisa-Jo Baker.

  10. I've been getting spring clean fever as well! It feels so nice to have all the windows open and let the fresh breeze into the house :) Sounds like you had a productive weekend! I wish I could say the same...we had a fun filled weekend of BBQs, rooftop pool parties, and nights out with friends. It was so much fun, but the house is in major need of more spring cleaning!!

  11. My focus this summer is finding the strength to see our firstborn off to college come August. I am really struggling with letting go. I also have four children and I love how different each one of them is and how each one gives me something else that I need in my life. I love your blog and read it all the time! My blog is www.
