Happy Birthday To Moi

It's that time of the year again! I gotta say that this one really snuck up on me. the only thing that let on it was close was New Years, or I might have missed it all-together.haha It's been a fun day so far though, and I thought I'd take a second and jump on here to share a few things with you guys! Firstly, since it's pretty much tradition for us bloggers to give our readers something on our own birthday, for the next 24 hours I'm offering 50%off my Large, Medium and Small ad spaces with the promo code 'partytime' as a little present to you! Because the party is coming to The Freckled Fox this month, and I'd love to share the spotlight with you! I share a lot of things with you actually, too much maybe? Like this batch of pictures from when I was a young 'n, which should probably stay locked away in the vault, but instead I'm choosing to publish them on the internet for some reason. Consider them my second birthday present to you, and have a good laugh at my expense. :)
Well now that that's over with.haha The last thing I wanted to share with you is a list! I know that you know that I use every opportunity to make a list, but instead of sharing a bunch of things that I've learned in my last year or whatever, I'm going to write ten things I'd love to do in the next year. No, these are NOT new years resolutions, they're birthday wishes people! That means that if I don't do them than it's not as big a deal:)

#1. Go on a date at least once a week, every week with my husband this year. I'm pretty lax on the word, basically any time we're alone without the kiddies involving conversation and some sort of food.
#2. Visit where I grew up on the east coast. I loved the house I grew up in and would love to show martin around my hometown, also I have family who still lives there which would make it ever more fun!
#3. Eat at Chipotle. I've still never been and I get the impression that I'm missing out from the dropped jaws of everyone that ever hears me say that
#4. Read 12 Books. That number sounds pathetic, but I didn't completed a single book last year! That's pretty horrible for someone who's been collecting books since she was in diapers and who has a room in her house dedicated to reading books. pathetic I say. So I figure one a month is manageable right?
#5. Take more black and whit photos. since everything is more romantic and timeless in black and white
#6. Do Moorea Seal's 52 lists project. I love how it makes you focus on the best things in life, and really ponder what you have going for you and what you need to work on.
#7.Take a portrait of my children, once a week, every week. I LOVE instagram with red hot love and it's made me document so much more of my life than I was, but I'd love to have more pictures of my kids preferably with a better quality camera:)
#8. Write a book. I have so much in my head that I want to get out there, and you guys encourage me every day to share! That's definitely a big one.
#9. Do a handstand. I have the weakest muscles I've ever had in my life, and I'm turning that around this year!
# 10. Be my best self. This may seem like a lame one, but every time I make a stupd decision or mixtake and have to apologize to osmeone else or to myself, I think in my mind that I'll make it right or I'll try harder. This year I'm going to stop apologizing and just simply make the change. At the end of the day I am exactly who I choose to be, and I choose to be better:)

Okay getting off the soap box for now, and I lied! I have another thing I want to give away to you guys, but I'm saving it for Tomorrow:) See you back here!
xo, Emily

  2. Happy Birthday and your post has inspired me to create a birthday list, I am also a January Baby but a few years ( yea just a few) older, so I guess that means my list should be longer right. I love that you make birthday wishes not New Years Resolutions, seems so much more attainable.

  11. Happy birthday to you! I don't think I've noticed before how much your two older girls look like you;) I love your list, I think writing a book is amazing, but it does take a ton of time (more than I thought?) Ha!

  13. Happy birthday! I've found lately that audiobooks are a great way to 'read' more while your hands are busy. I listen to them on my old iPod, which is now the dedicated audiobook device, while I'm cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, whatever! Most libraries have an online download system where you can check them out for free, without having to go to the library and pick up that giant thing of 12+ CDs.

  19. Happy Birthday! :) Love the lists, reading and taking more photos. Such good birthday year goals! I am a complete believer in setting any goals. Even resolutions, because even if you don't complete them I think it makes your more ambitious and gets you doing more! Last year I made 26 goals and didn't finish as many as I'd liked to... but realized that I ended up doing TONS of amazing stuff that I wouldn't have otherwise because I was challenging myself. That's what it's all about for me. Anyhow, good luck & happy bday from another twenty-something! :) -Alexandra

  21. Happy belated birthday :) I just discovered your blog and you are such a beauty! Love your list. My husband and I have made it a point to start dating more too. We only have 1 baby so I know if you can make time, so can we :) #3-Chiptole is the bomb. You must go! #7:I'm totally with you on that one. I started taking more pictures of Marli and am so happy I did. #9: Whew....maybe we can help each other. Ha! My goal is to start doing yoga and get into one of those crouching crow stands. Good luck and I'm looking forward to reading more posts from you.
