Hey everyone! So today's tutorial is for a really basic style that's been requested a lot lately, and it fits perfectly in this series! It's really great for everything from work to school to a date night out etc because depending on your outfit and how dramatic your jewelry is its really easy to dress up or down. And I think it takes like less then a minute to complete! Win Win!
I got a few emails from a few of you beautiful people who were confused at which direction to twist and were having trouble with the braid going wonky or opening, etc, so I'm excited to talk you through the process of the braid, and hopefully clear up any confusion! Lets get going:)
Supplies:
- brush
- hair serum (or hair pomade, etc)
- two hair ties
Method:
Step 1: Begin by brushing your hair smooth, and then pull it up into a high ponytail. Holding the base of the ponytail in one hand, use your other to tug the hair at your scalp out a bit to loosen and give more fullness and body.
Step 2: Squirt a nickle sized amount of serum on your hand, and gently rub over and through your ponytail to help give it long-lasting smoothness and grip. (if you have really thin hair, at this point you can brush your ponytail upwards slightly to create more volume for your braid) Separate your ponytail into two sections and begin twisting counterclockwise to the left.
Step 3: Once they're completely twisted, begin twisting them together around each other in the opposite direction, or, clockwise to the right. Fan out the braid a bit by pulling on the sections, this will make it look even thicker. Spray up and town your rope braid with some hairspray, and rub gently downwards to help the spray cling better to the braid. and you're done!
And that's all there is to it! So I'd love to hear what you think about the style and where or how you'd wear it, I really hope that if you don't already do this style that you'll give it a try because its so simple and easy! Sometimes if I'm out and about with a staticy ponytail I'll just twist it up like this and on one's the wiser! So its great in an emergency
Thanks so much for reading, and I hope you have a fantastic day!

I tried out this hairstyle this morning because it looked simple (I'm not one for complex styles) and sophisticated. It took me about 2 minutes and looks so super cute and polished. I've already gotten compliments from coworkers. Think I'm gonna add this one to the weekly rotation :) Thanks for sharing this tutorial!
ReplyDeleteFinally. A new hair style I feel I can actually do. I love it and would wear it anytime.
