Summers End Hair Week: The Ballerina Bun

Happy Friday you guys! Friday means the start of the weekend for most folks, and that usually means something fun has been planned to do in the next few days:) Hope that's the case for you! We may have a fun dinner at home, maybe a family movie night, most likely a few errands, maybe even a date! For now though, I'll get on to today's tutorial how 'bout that:
Classic, fast, fun, and totally versatile. What this week has been all about! I had a few of you wonderful people send pictures of celebrities with this little bun asking for tips on achieving it, so I'm more than happy to get it published! Here we go:
Supplies:
- brush
- hair serum (or hair pomade, etc)
- 1 hair tie

- bobby pins

- hairspray

Method:

Step 1: Begin by brushing your hair up into a really high ponytail (like you can see it from the front:)) and secure tightly with a hair-tie. Now brush your ponytail through, then take a small amount of smoothing serum and smooth it down your ponytail for a little extra grip and shine.
Step 2: Twist your whole ponytail tightly one direction and then start winding the twisted hair around the base of your ponytail in the opposite direction that you twisted it. So for instance I think I twisted my ponytail counterclockwise tightly, then I wound it around the base in a clockwise direction. clear? :) Secure it in a few places with bobby pins, spritz a bit if you need it, and you're all good to go!
Note: Don't pull your bun so tight as your wind it that it starts getting taller and taller. No. Think of it like you're winding up a cinnamon roll or something and just let it get wider as you go. Make sense?

Have fun this weekend! Maybe wear this out on a date or night out with friends and let me know how it went! Hearing feedback is the best part about doing these tutorials, so thank you so much in advance!
xo, Emily

these spiral pins are the best things ever for keeping a bun up. they come two to a box and i found them at my dollar store. (i should probably get some more to tuck away.)
