Hopes and Dreams

Well guys? 2012 just popped its head around the corner and said “So I guess I’ll be going now, but hey its fun fun, and its been real, and its been real fun.” And now its off to bring 2013 to us, can you believe it?
Lately I've had strong feelings, because of all the plans and schemes that Martin and I have been making, that 2013 is going to be a year for huge and exciting things..
Resolutions are a funny thing aren't they? Some hang on for a while, some were just plan made to be broken, and a few here and there stick, and last. I know that I’m not the only one who (in the last few weeks of December especially) gets excited at the prospect of a fresh start, of putting the past behind us and thinking of the endless possibilities awaiting us.  This year’s resolutions hit me on a rare night when I was sleeping, around 3 in the morning. I sat up and blindly grabbed for my phone in order to started groggily typing out a little list. here it is :
Em’s Resolutions 2013:
Be Happy: remember to count my blessings each and every day, treasure the tiny things, and always be doing something that fulfills me.
Be Confident: Don’t be afraid to share my knowledge with others more.
Be Friendly: take more time out to strengthen the valuable friendships that mean the world to me, but that I may have neglected.
Be Adventurous: step out of my comfort zone and strive even harder to learn new and different things. Put all inhibitions behind me and just go for it!
Be Organized: The biggest for me maybe. Enough trying and excuses. Strive to always make my home a clean and organized place. It is SO worth it.
Be Smart: Read more books in 2013. Lots more. Remember the love of books from my adolescence and drop all excuses about no time.
Be Strong: Keep my regular exercise routine on through the New Year and on off days remember the huge high that comes from every workout. Also run another race or two with MartinJ
Be Fierce: Live life with a fearless attitude, in everything I do. I can do anything I want to do, and be who I want to be, and nothing can stand in my way.
Be Motivated: Remember that starting the day out right always means more will get done, and I will feel happier with the day.
Be Healthy: work harder at keeping regularly scheduled mealtimes as well as a more balanced diet for myself and my family.
Be inspiring: Never be afraid to share something I’ve learned or achieved, because I never know whos life it could change for the better.

What are some of your New Years Resolutions?
I hope you accomplish everything you’re hoping to, and that your new year is filled with good health, good fortune and good people:)
Xo, Emily

  6. These are great resolutions! I hope 2013 is amazing for you and that you're able to keep them all!

I honestly don't make any. I know myself well enough that it's just not in my...personality to pick something to stick to all year or if i pre-plan that much it suddenly becomes unappealing to me. I like spur of the moment, what-am-i-going-to-obsesses-about-for-the-next-few-weeks decisions. :D
