Summer Bucket List

Happy Saturday everyone! Today the kids and I had a rather fantastic little sleep-in, and have so far eaten treats, watched a movie, played outside in the sunshine, and gone for a walk. That's a pretty great Saturday afternoon in the summertime if you ask me.
With exactly four weeks left till the first day of autumn, here's a little peek at our Summer Bucket List! Its pretty neat to look back and see some of the fun things we've been able to do this summer by seeing what's checked off:
- wade in a creek
- chase butterflies
- play on monkey-bars
- make root beer floats
- visit a museum
- pick berries
- attend the 4th of July parade
- see a lighthouse
- walk on sand
- star gaze
- find a waterfall
- go fishing
- make funnel cakes
- watch fireworks
- play with sidewalk chalk
- have a picnic at the park
- camp in the backyard
- play hid-n-seek
- make lemonade
- skip a rock
- have a neighborhood BBQ
- make ice-cream
- send a message in a bottle
- enjoy lots of fires in the fire pit
- make smores
- go to the drive-in movie
- fly a kite
- read a chapter book
- go on a bike ride
- get a manicure/ pedicure
- visit the zoo
- plant a garden
- go bowling
- watch the clouds go by
- eat a sno-cone
- buy a kiddie pool for the girls
- have a couple BBQs with friends and neighbors
- make homemade ice-cream
- have a water balloon fight
- build a fort
- kiss in the rain
- ride a ferris wheel
- watch the stars from the top of the roof
- blow bubbles
- go on a mini road trip
- eat foil dinners
Wish us luck! With the county fair coming up next week I'll be able to check a bunch more of these off the list:) What are some of your goals before the end of summer?
xo, Emily

  4. Oh, love it!! We have one too- http://www.thefrugalfoodiemama.com/2012/05/my-familys-2012-sand-pail-list.html ,but I don't think we will finish our's before the official start of autumn. My son just started back to school this past week, so that limits when we can do things now. But we may get 1 or 2 more crossed off. ;)
    Good luck with your list!!

  7. I'm on a road trip at the moment and even though it can be quite fun, I'm not sure about venturing with kids (just last week we had to sleep in the car because every hotel, hostel, motel in a 100km radius was full... I would never have believed =/ anyway, I'll post about it in a few days xD

  9. Awesome summer bucket list! Now that I've moved south I love that I don't have to cram a whole bunch of things into a few months, but yet I still feel like the warm weather is gone before I know it :-P

  16. I love your blog. You are seriously inspiring. I used to have two toddlers, a year apart. Tis Sept the youngest moves away to college and I'm freaking out about the empty nest but your bucket list made me realize I need a new one for me and the husband since so much of our old one is accomplished.

  17. This is such a good idea, to keep a mini bucket list of things you want to do in the near future. I keep one of things I want to do in my lifetime, but this one is so sweet & whimsical. I need some of those atributes in my life =) I think I'm going to create one too! Thanks for the inspiration =) I especially love your goal of "send a message in a bottle." Can you imagine how cool it'd be to actually find one? Let alone give someone else the chance to find one- so cool.
