Weekend Wrap-up

This Week: I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I'd hoped, but we're all that way right? Writing out to-do lists as tall as a house and then kicking ourselves a bit for not getting them done.haha It's quite laughable isn't it:) That's the way we push ourselves though, we set out sights high, and then we just have to make sure that when we don't quite reach our goals that we don't beat ourselves up too much about it. Being a full-time mom, blogger, photographer, and everything else I try to be and do is a huge balancing act, and even though I feel we're doing pretty well considering, I've been craving more calm lately. more quiet. more peace.

So this week I've been catching up with work and scheming, but I've also taken time to really sit down and read this week, to set up the new trampoline and jump for hours with the kids, to cook some special treats, to sit and watch a movie (without trying to multi-task with 10 other things while doing it, and I right? :)), to lay in the grass and eat a Popsicle, to really tune out and focus on my workouts, to put all the kids down for naps and take one myself instead of rushing around with my to-do list, to roll the windows down and let me hair whip around, to stash a ton of plants and flowers around my house, to plan, to hope, to dream. and it been great:)
Weekly Snapshots:

To-do's and Goals for the Week:
- visit the graves for memorial day
- do a clean of the house top to bottom
- fill up the kiddie pool for the first time
- chop up the rest of the wood in the yard and stack it up
- finish the bunny houses
- keep up the good workouts
- charge my headphones
- take the kids to some different parks
- start shooting home tour photos
- start in on my new secret projects

A Few Facts:
  • If it's properly sweet, cold, and crisp, I can eat an entire watermelon all by myself in about 10 minutes
  • I can't remember the last time I woke up organically:( (aka without an alarm clock, baby cries, or my husband doing it for me.haha)
  • workout clothing sites and stores lift my mood any day of the week:)

Thanks so much for visiting, and I hope you have a fun and peaceful Memorial Day tomorrow with loved ones,
xo, Emily

  1. Writing lists makes you feel good and organized however, sometimes being in the moment and focusing only on what is infront of you can be good too. Hope you have a lovely week!

  2. What headphones do you use that need to be charged? Just curious- I'm currently dreaming about new headphones, and I've been looking pretty hard at the JayBird Bluebuds X.

Also, any advice/tips for a soon-to-be newlywed? Less than two weeks out from marrying my love, and I'm impatient, nervous, and excited all at the same time!
