Mums Easy Dark Chocolate Walnut Fudge

So I know I just barely posted a recipe, but first of all you can't have too many sweets around the holidays, and second of all I've been talking a lot about how I'm going to be cutting back on the sweet sharing here on the blog come January so I'd better get it out of my system! Plus this fudge is just too perfect not to share, you guys need this in your life. I'm actually eating some as I type this, trying not to get any on my keyboard.haha so yummy!
One thing that should have been in my opening paragraph is how dang easy this stuff is to make, because I've made a lot of fudge in my day (addict right here) and the first time Martin made this recipe I couldn't believe how fast it came together! When we first got married he was excited to have me try it because his mother's been making it ever since he was little. So now it's become a top holiday staple in our house as well, and I hope it will be one in yours too!
It's perfectly soft and stiff at the same time, and is so creamy in your mouth. The darkness of the chocolate also is in no way bitter at all but instead adds a level of deep richness that's just so amazing and necessary in a fudge. As you can see as well I've cut it into small pieces which helps me eat less, because of the richness and because of my growing waistline! haha Well gather up the ingredients and lets get cooking!

*a few pre-cooking notes from the chef himself: 1. must use dark chocolate and not milk, 2. do not let stove top mixture boil, 3. stores in refrigerator and keeps for weeks if sealed air tight.

Dark Chocolate Walnut Fudge
Ingredients:
1½ cups walnuts
- 3 cups dark chocolate
- ½ cup butter
- 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Method:
1. Chop walnuts course or fine as desired, grease an 8 inch square cake pan and line bottom with nuts. Place your chocolate in a large sauce pan with butter and sweetened condensed milk. Heat slowly and stir until mixture is smooth, not letting it boil.  Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract. Pour into your pan over the nuts, and chill in the refrigerator until set. Tip pan over on cutting board to release the slab of fudge (the nuts will aid in this), cut into squares and enjoy!
See now wasn't that just incredibly easy? I couldn't quite believe it myself, and the flavors taste so much more intricate and complex than just four ingredients. it's seriously amazing. Now hurry and make some and come tell me how you love it! Also feel free to pin and share with every one who'll ask for the recipe at that party, because there will be lots.haha Thanks for visiting and have a great day folks!
xo, Emily

  10. Thank you so much for this recipe! My boyfriend and I made it this past weekend and we can't stop eating it! We plan on including a few pieces in everyone's Christmas gifts this year, that way we don't eat it all ourselves and because we want to share it with everyone else!

    Happy Holidays!
