Holiday Hair Week: The Party Bun

Party time! I gotta be honest and let you know that I've eaten about three platters of fudge so far today by myself so I'm gonna try and keep this short and to the point, and also not use too many exclamation points.haha Tutorial number four! Who doesn't love a big tall sleek bun? This is not a work bun, this is not an errands bun, this is a party bun folks! (though I give you permission to wear it wherever you want:))
Every time I wear this people stare at my head for a little while and then say something like "okay so you have to tell me how you did that." haha but it's really really easy! Those are the best hairstyles right? the ones that are so incredibly easy, but it looks like it was done by a pro:) Lets get to this optical illusion of hair shall we? haha
Supplies:
- teasing comb.
- two hairties
- bobby pins
- hair spray

Method:

Step 1: Begin by smoothing all your hair back into a sleek high ponytail(if you have curly hair, you can either straighten it beforehand or just expect a more textured look:)). spray your head down and smooth the top for extra 'sleek-ness':) next you're going to use another hair-tie on top of the other. Pull your hair through twice, but on the last time don't pull it through all the way, but stop after creating a loop that's about 6 inches across.
Step 2: I have a lot of hair leftover at this point, but if you use up all your hair in the loop because it's shorter, that's just fine! Next you're gonna pull the loop forward and just let it nestle nicely onto your head. Pin the middle from either side, and the ends will lay in place, creating a cute little dome of hair!
Step 3: Lastly we're gonna twist the leftover hair a little, and wrap it up over the hair-tie and into the 'dome' of hair, pinning it into place out of sight. Spray it all down as usual, and you're finished!
This is the perfect style to clip a sparkly bow right in front, or high in the back! I'm not really a bow person myself, but I think they look adorable, so if you have one to match your outfit then go for it! on a side note, if you're having trouble with layers sticking out when you're covering your hairtie, just spray the leftover hair closely with hairspray and run your hand down it. That will get all your stray ends to stick to each other and even add a little shine in the process!

As always thank you so much for visiting, and I'll see you in my next post! Happy Wednesday everyone, and happy freakin one-week-left-till-Christmas! I can't believe how fast it's coming. okay bye:)
xo, Emily
