Morning dearies! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I just realized that I've gone halfway through the month of October without posting this months mixed tape!
If you're new around here then click this link to view my monthly mixed tape feature and you'll learn real quick about how I share collections of songs with a theme in the form of an oldschool 'mixed tape'.
I get so exited when a friend shares a new band or song with me and I think "where have you been all my life?!" and and so its always my hope that these playlists introduce you to a new song or band in the same way. Today though, I've never been quite as excited to share a playlist with you!
I really don't have a good enough way of describing this list of slightly creepy, slightly haunting, Halloween inspired songs except to use the word epic. But to truly understand, you'll just have to listen for yourself:
SIDE A:
1. 1940 - Submerines
2. Bloodstream - Stateless
3. Genesis - Grimes
4. Video Games - Lena Del Ray
5. The Horror - RJD2
6. This Place is a Prison - Postal Service
7. Night time - the XX
SIDE B:
1. Don't Wake me Up - Cranes
2. How to be eaten by a woman - The Glitch Mob
3. Talk Show Host - Radiohead
4. Glory Box - Portishead
5. Shadows of Ourselves - Thievery Corporation
6. In This Twilight - Nine Inch Nails
7. Going Under - Evanescence
8. Eyes - Kaskade
Please let me know if you've found a new favorite band or song, I really love to hear your thoughts!
xoxo, Emily
P.S. As usual, please remember that even though I may enjoy some of them, I am not endorsing the videos just the songs themselves:)
I love Evanescence! Some of their songs are a little creepy sounding, but perfect for Halloween ;)
ReplyDeleteI love Lana del Rey! I'm always glad to find new music and since I tend to be a bit impatient and lazy with doing the work of finding songs myself, I really appreciate posts like these that feature random songs :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. At the moment, I'm loving the song "How Not To Be Surprised When You're A Ghost" by Charlotte Church. I've been a fan of hers since she was a classical singer and am also loving her new stuff. If you wanna check it out, the video link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4IT3aJ90aA
I wasn't all that crazy about it at first but it grows on ya. Hope you enjoy it :)
I'll have to listen to some of the songs you mentioned that I don't know.
ReplyDeleteI've just discovered Gabrielle Aplin. Maybe you know her.. She's amazing and I totally fell in love with her song "home".
