Fresh Air, and Something Exciting

Firstly, I would love to have you all head over to my husband's brand new website! He's excited to be turning a page in his writing career and is hosting a $50.00 Amazon Giveaway!

Also, Sunday evening after a long day of happenings (and an upset tummy), we all needed to get out of the house for some fresh air. We went for a little walk to the park and then ended up back home in the yard. It was such a beautiful night sitting with Martin in the grass, watching the girls play. Ellie was organizing plastic fruit inside the playhouse, Sophie decided that a few sticks were just what she needed to entertain herself, and baby John snoozled on Martin's chest.
We realized that it was high time to pick the unknown fruit off the volunteer tree in the side garden. It's been there since we moved here, but this is the first fruit I've seen on it. We thought it may be a crab apple tree, but the fruit has the shape and taste of cherries(almost). Yum! Do any of you have an idea what they may be? At any rate, I balanced on the back of a chair and picked everything I could reach before the birdies could eat it all.

Ellie quickly learned how to remove the pits, and we enjoyed several a piece before retiring into the house for baths and bedtime.

What a fun night.
How did you spend your Sunday evening?

xo, Emmy

  9. These are Mirabelle plums I think. If you let them dry in your oven, it's like candies, delicious !!

  16. Hi, i'm from Belgium and i've been reading your blog for a few months now!
If your plums are a little big bigger than cherries, i can tell you they're mirabelles. We have many of those trees here :) You can make very nice tarts with those fruits, or jams..
