mother + 3

"Motherhood is the greatest potential influence either for good or ill in human life. The mother's image is the first that stamps itself on the unwritten page of a young childs mind. It is her caress that first awakens a sense of security; her kiss, the first realization of affection; her sympathy and tenderness, the first assurance that there is love in the world."
- David O. Mckay

Sunday was Mothers Day as you know {I hope it was the best yet for you!}, and as it probably does for many of you out there it always makes me think of my first time becoming a mother, when I first held my first little baby in my arms. That day was the most incredibly painful and spiritual and exhausting and beautiful day I'd ever had. Feelings I didn't know could be felt were felt that day. And they've only expanded since. At times I look at these two little girls that look like my hubby and myself, and its almost hard to even imagin that they are mine/ours, forever.
Yesterday was my third Mothers Day! And I was lucky enough not only to spend it with my mother and mother in law (and their mothers), but with the handsome man and adorable children that make me a mother.
Looking down at this huge and little moving bump that mean a baby, and I'm reminded that pretty soon here I'll have baby number three, and will be a mother three times over! Seems pretty fitting don'cha think?
I'm so grateful that I'm the lucky one chosen to bring these beautiful and innocent little souls to earth. And I can't wait to meet number three.
Happy mother's day to mothers and future mothers everywhere! Especially to my own beautiful mom, and mother-in-law. We love you.
xoxo, Emily

  7. Gorgeous pictures. I am always jealous of women with beautiful day-of-baby's-birth pictures! Mine were a little more exhausted, swollen, sweaty, happy and traumatized looking. Ha!
