change the world

Friday I shared a quote on Instagram that really hit home for me after such an intense week, and I wanted to pass it on here as well. I've just felt so many different emotions because of dear friends on both sides of the race, and it's been extremely frustrating and saddening to see just the changes in the people, online and off.

So as I said on IG, I'm going to try and check out of the mess as much as possible, and I'm turning to my little tribe of humans even more this week. Feel free to drop by and help eat the treats I can't stop making:)

"I think the world today is upside-down. Everybody seems to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater development and greater riches and so on. There is much suffering because there is so very little love in homes and in family life. We have no time for our children, we have no time for each other; there is no time to enjoy each other. In the home begins the disruption of the peace in the world. If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” - Mother Teresa

Have peace, do good, love hard, breathe deeply, find hope, take action, be kind.
Love you all so much

  1. Thank you for sharing this. I couldn't agree more and this really resonates with me right now, more than ever. I am craving just peace, calm and time with my family. Life is way too busy and all that really matters is our loved ones.

  3. I love your example of tuning into your family more than anything else. It really influences me to do the same!

  4. So lovely that you link the obvious but often forgotten love starts at home message and remain us to also care for those not fortunate enough to have a home.

  6. I love that quote. Thanks for sharing! Another one I came across during the election, that really helped calm my heart was, "But whatever the era, whatever the times, one thing will never change: Fathers and mothers, if you have children, they must come first. You must read to your children and you must hug your children and you must love your children. Your success as a family, our success as a society, depends not on what happens in the White House but on what happens inside your house." -Barbra Bush (I saw it with credit to James E Faust but he was actually quoting Barbra Bush).

  7. I couldn't agree more. This is one of my key philosophies. Doing good in the world can be so simple, humble and intuitive and sending love to all people is a good way to start. If you raise your 5 beautiful children with as much love, positivity, hope and groundedness that you can muster...you will be doing the world a good deed. Beautiful post Emily, thank you xo
