Holy November Batman. I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween:) We threw together some really last-minute costumes again this year, but I thought that everyone actually looked really awesome, and the kids were all so excited about their outfits. Lydia(nearly 3) especially was finally able to really understand how the trick-or-treating works, and it was so good to see them all so happy and excited.
- Feeling stuck is a sign that something needs to change
- Even the tiniest possible step is progress.
- You don't have to have it all figured out to move forward
- Nothing changes if nothing changes.
- New beginnings can feel like endings
- Beautiful things happen when you clear your life of all negativity.
- Believe what your heart tells you, not what others say.
- Stop overthinking. Whatever happens, happens.
- If it's meant to be, it will happen at the right time, at the right place, for the right reasons.
- Your best is yet to come.
I hope there are more of you out there that needed this right now, and that you have a great weekend ahead! I've been so up and down in every way lately, but I'll keep setting little goals and keep trying to focus on the positive, and I hope you do the same:) Also, I asked on my social media if anyone had any 'simpler' questions for a light-hearted q&a video, so feel free to ask in the comments if you missed out. Thank you to everyone else for the awesome questions and motivation so far. You guys are such a constant blessing.
xoxo,
Ooo, I love seeing these all together! I've been thinking a lot about #4 lately (although mine usually happens to the tune of, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"). Thanks so much for taking the time to share, and I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh Torrie thank you for your thoughts, and I totally agree with you! I do that way more than I care to admit.
DeleteI really appreciate your comment! I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to get back to you, and I hope you have a fun Thanksgiving weekend:)
What are 3-5 articles of clothing you think every girl should own? Or what is your go to outfit?
ReplyDeleteThat's a great question Katherine!
DeleteMy go-to outfit is definitely my black skinny jeans (asos online), my roxy black boots (ross), and just a comfy plain t-shirt! Normally I have my leather satchel purse slung over my shoulder and a little chain around my neck. Simple and comfy:)
As for the 5 items, #1 would definitely a pair of black skinny jeans! lol if you can find a stretch pair, than throw out all your black leggings because they show everything in my opinion, and the jeans will support and flatter much more:)
#2 would probably be a good pair of big baggy sweats:) Preferable mens so they're nice and long. No wardrobe is complete without a ridiculously big pair of soft sweats.
#3 is a little black dress IMO, preferably with short sleeves and knee length, because it is appropriate for any formal occasion or night out, can be dressed differently with tons of other accessories, and will be more comfortable than a mini dress.
#4 is a leather jacket. if it's light enough it'll work year round with a sweatshirt underneath for the colder months:)
#5 is... hmmm, I would like to know one of Your staples! haha
I guess it depends on the girls, what they spend most of their days doing, stuff like that?
I'm sorry if that wasn't helpful at all.haha But I'd be happy to talk more about it if you have more questions!
Happy Thanksgiving love:)
I think these are amazing pieces of advice that everyone can use!
ReplyDeleteFor the q&a, I'd love to hear how you make putting awesome outfits together look so easy!
Thank you so much for your feedback Allison, and to answer your question right here, I don't really feel like I out anything awesome together at all.haha But I think it helps a lot that for the last 8 months or so, I really don't purchase anything that isn't monochromatic (greys, black, beiges, cream, etc), I wear really simple and classic staples over and over, and I don't really care what people think or put too much effort into what I wear! haha I usually start by choosing my shirt and going from there:)
DeleteThat probably wasn't very helpful, but if you have any other questions that I can answer feel free to ask!
I'm sorry that I took so long in getting back to you, and I hope you have a very merry holiday season:)
How do you find time to work out with all the children and your work schedule (or maybe I should ask how do you find the motivation?ha ha) Love your blog. <3
ReplyDeleteoh that's tricky, but I'll do my best!
DeleteFor the last few years after Martin and I did our show together, we decided that exercise was not only a fun and rewarding hobby, but the best thing we could do with our time, so we decided to pay for the childcare at the gym, and a few times a week the kids would play with friends while we had a little work-out date! It's definitely worth the money in my opinion if your gym has such a service available. Also I would go at night once the family was in bed and the dishes were done, etc. The gym is open about 20 hours a day, so I would head out usually round 10:00 for my workout.
Which leads me into my motivation! Definitely having the show to work towards was the biggest one in the beginning, then having someone to push me and go with me helped a lot, and these days it's just because I miss the way I felt when I was in much better shape, and I know that it will help me clear my head and keep my depression in check.
Going late at night is my favorite because I can drink a pre-workout for a little boost of energy, and then I can blow every last drop of it on my workout and fall into bed when I get home.haha Versus going in the morning or afternoon when I still have so much to do in the day just exhausts me!
Alright that was a massive answer, but feel free to ask any more questions any time and I'll do my best to answer!
Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you so much for visiting and commenting:)
1) You've mentioned that you like to try new products, which is great. After what I imagine must be many product trials, which products are you loyal to and use on a daily basis? If possible, please explain why.
ReplyDelete2) What does your daily routine typically look like?
Aaaaand I'm in tears haha this is exactly what I needed today. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWow I feel both sorry for causing tears but also very touched that the post was able to strike a strong crd with you Keating. Thank you so much for passing that on! You just made my day:)
DeleteSorry for getting back to you so late, and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving <3
Thank you for these uplifting words! I couldn't agree more with "New Beginnings can feel like endings' but that's no excuse to give up xx

Well thank YOU for adding in your thoughts Pallavi, I really appreciate it!
DeleteP.S. I just visited your blog and it's clear you are beautiful inside and out.
Thank you so much for visiting and supporting, and I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving:)
You are so beautifully eloquent. Always amazed that with the grief you carry, you continue to be such a light and inspiration to others. Thank you for sharing your journey. i take something useful away from envy post :)
ReplyDeleteWow I'm at a loss for words after reading your sweet comment Michelle. The things you described are certainly what I've hoped to convey and how I hope others are able to see me and my thoughts someday, but you're far too generous:)
DeleteI'm so grateful for your uplifting comment, and for taking the time to share it, I feel so privileged to have you as a reader!
Happy Holidays:)
Thank you for such a great post! I have been stuck recently in terms of my next career move, so I have been trying out new things to see what I enjoy and what I don't! x

That sounds like a great plan of attack! I'm happy if I could be of some help getting your mind going on that. I hope by now that you've been able to make a decision that you're happy with!
DeleteThanks so much for visiting and taking the time to comment:)
Thank you. I think I needed the encouragement. :) We made a major life decision to move across country, and everything is happening so very slowly. We left an unhappy place behind, but we were more financially stable, so it is frustrating. Thank you for your uplifting posts!
ReplyDeleteKrista, you're so welcome!
DeleteAll I receive every day from you guys is trust and support and encouragement, so I'm very happy when I hear I gave even a tiny bit back. And wow, that sounds like quite the toss-up, but I'm sure ultimately that you'll catch up quickly with your finances and that you made the right choice. Happiness first:)
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
I want to know how you get all your kids in and out of the car when you're on your own? I struggle with my 3 who are 3 and under.
ReplyDeleteOh it's quite the show.haha I usually plan on it taking a good 20 minutes, and I start with youngest to oldest! Everyone sits and I put on the shoes, coats, and I carry the baby, hold Lydia's hand, and the older three follow me out on their own. I buckle Evie while instructing the rest to get in their seats and buckle, by the time I've finished with Evie and Lydia, I check the older kids to make sure they're secure, and we're off!
DeleteHopefully as I start filming vlogs again I can catch that sometime:)
Thanks so much for your question! Ask anything any time:)
xoxo
P.S. I forgot to mention it, but go you with the 3 under 3! I was there not too long ago and let me just say you're a great mom and you're doing awesome:)
DeleteSuch a lovely post. Number 6 is what I basically live by :)

Oh man, yes!! Every day it's a constant battle isn't it? to not be dragged down to their level and to keep your head clear of the voices in and out that try to drag you down. It can be so hard sometimes, but ultimately we know that the negativity they're spreading has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.
DeleteThank you so much for your comments!
Take care:)
Love it! I think I needed this post. :)
ReplyDeleteWell I'm so glad to hear it! Thank you for taking the time to pass that on, I know life is hectic so that really means a lot.
DeleteTake care, and Happy Holidays!
How do you get to work, tidy up, look after children, and still look so beautiful? Do you have someone's help?
ReplyDeleteThis is great, thanks for sharing. I have a relationship & lifestyle blog and I touch on topics like this! I really appreciate you sharing this! Helpful to all. wwwthemoderndaygirlfriend.com
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, I'm so glad to hear it! These types of posts are just as much/if not more for me than for anyone else, so I'm glad to hear that you got something out of it.
DeleteHappy Holidays!
I just had an hour long conversation with my husband about feeling stuck and hopeless that I will never change. This list was perfect for me. THANK YOU for sharing-you helped this mama. 💜
ReplyDeleteWell you just really made my day mama! If you were the only person reading my blog and I heard feedback like that, that'd be more than enough:) I hope that each post will help even one person even in the slightest little way, even though they're usually more for me than anyone else.haha
DeleteAnyways, I'm sorry for getting back to you so late, but I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!
xoxo
This is something I really struggle with. I never feel like I'm doing enough or accomplishing things as quickly as I should be. Thank you for reminding me to be present in each moment and remember that I am enough.
ReplyDeleteI so appreciate your words.
All my love,
Colleen
