Easy Cinnamon Sugar Popcorn

The first order of business today is to announce the lucky winner of the Albion Fit $100 giveaway from last week: Congrats to Marissa C! If that's you, check your email lady! You should be getting an email from Albion very soon:)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So it's been a really long time I feel like since I've posted a recipe here, but this is a really fun one to break that streak with! Martin came up with this idea when we were making different flavors of popcorn for a baby shower I threw over the Summer, and I can't believe it's taken us this long to share it!
This is a total game changer in the world of popcorn folks. We just love it to pieces. So amazingly simple, quick, and so delicious! It can be pretty addicting to so be careful how much you make...You may just consume the entire bowl before you realize what you did. That is if your husband and kids don't get to it first! haha
While I do love my movie theater popcorn once in a while, no popcorn is really quite as good as homemade popcorn(and much better for you!), so I hope you give this a try, I know you'll love it! :
Easy Cinnamon Sugar Popcorn
Ingredients:
- Un-popped popcorn
- Melted Butter
- Salt
- White Sugar
- Cinnamon

For the cinnamon sugar: In case you've never made cinnamon sugar before, have no fear because it's uber simple. Martin and I just like to combine 2 parts sugar to 1 part cinnamon! We have a bottle of it because we use it on toast and oatmeal, etc, but if you're just going to make it for this recipe, you'll just want about 3-4 tablespoons of cinnamon sugar for every 1/2 cup of popcorn (enough for a medium bowl).

Method:
1: I love the ease of using our popcorn popper , but if you don't have one you can use a pot on the stove to cook it in with a little oil, or you can even just put the kernels in a bowl in the microwave to pop them! At any rate I recommend not cooking more than 1/2 cup at once. In the pot, just add your kernels, cover, and turn on med till you hear 3 seconds between pops at the end, and it's the same with the micro really. 3-4 seconds.
2: Once your corn is all popped and hot, quickly drizzle at your melted butter (remember it's 1/4 cup for every 1/2 cup of kernels at least), sprinkle lightly with salt, and then powder it up with your cinnamon sugar! If you're having trouble with them getting good and coated just remember that the more butter you use, the easier the powder will stick, so feel free to add more:) To mix it up well I love the trick of using a fork to stir up the popcorn and coat it all. I start on the outside of the bowl and scrape along the bowl from the outside to the middle (if that makes sense). The whole process takes me about 3-5 minutes from popping to eating:)
Now feel free to plop down in front of your tv with your popcorn, or at the table for game night, because you're all done with your warm, sweet, and crunchy treat!!

Have a great rest of your weekend folks:)
xo, Em
