Happy Tuesday everyone, and here is this months mixed tape! Even though its back to school for a lot of you today, I've decided to share some slower and softer instrumental songs that I've been listening to lately in honor of the changing seasons. When I think of fall, I of course think of the cool breeze in the evenings, wearing soft clothes and fluffy scarves, and the winding and twisting of leaves in the wind. deep, I know:)
So, without further ado here's a few of my current favorite (mostly) soft and slow fall-inspired (mostly) guitar songs! Once again in case you're new, all the songs are lined up randomly in a "mix tape" format with a link to the YouTube video, and again don't judge me because of the videos, just enjoy the music!
SIDE A:
1. orchard - the honey trees
3. such great heights - iron and wine
4. falling awake - gary jules
5. hard believer first aid kit
6. hey there delilah - plain white t's
7. this is my song - mindy gledhill
4. falling awake - gary jules
5. hard believer first aid kit
6. hey there delilah - plain white t's
7. this is my song - mindy gledhill
SIDE B:
1. safe and sound - taylor swift
2. one sweet love - sara bareilles
3. edelweiss - the honey trees
4. two doves - dirty projectors
5. chances - athlete
6. razzle dazzle rose - camera obscura
7. open your eyes - snow patrol
8. the girl - city in colour
Find a new song or artist that you really enjoy? I'd love to hear! Also again, feel free to recommend a favorite song or two for us to listen to in the comments section! We're all about music over here! We listen to it constantly so we're always looking for more good plays:)
Have a terrific week everybody!
xoxo, Emily

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your playlist! Definitely going to check some of those out. :) We do a weekly music sharing post as well... check out our most recent one here: http://meetmakelaugh.blogspot.ca/2012/09/meetmakemusic-track-3.html
ReplyDeleteWe love finding new music :)
My favorite band ever is Needtobreathe, they are really neat! Southern Rock with some funky mixes in there is how I would describe their style (needtobreathe.com). Their album The Reckoning is the best!

I love "Hey There Delilah". Now that song is stuck in my head :-)
ReplyDeleteSince I'm new here I'm not sure, but do you really, truly make mix cassette tapes? I have begun to think I am the only one who does. I have a tape player in my car and am reluctant to buy a new car b/c I need the cassette deck, NOT CD player. I don't even own an ipod. I'm not up on a lot of new music but I do like Carolina Liar. I'm kinda stuck in the 60s-80s, with an emphasis on the Grateful Dead.
ReplyDeleteI love some of these songs :) they're definitely a few of my faves!
ReplyDeleteOh my stars. The Girl. City and Colour. Thank you for putting it on this list. I have had it on replay for the past couple weeks. Favorite song! Also, I commented on your last mixed tape one and requested that one! Yayyy! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely :) I get the impression you would enjoy andrew bird, if you don't already: http://youtu.be/JSBLSfhVSR0
ReplyDeletePS: The leopard print pumps arrived today! Thanks so much! I'm going to post about them on my blog as soon as I get a chance :)
I love Iron & Wine! Such Great Heights fits your description of fall perfectly!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I'm always looking for new music to download. I'm going to listen to some of these tunes tomorrow at work :)
ReplyDeleteLot's of good songs! :) one of my favorite artist is "needtobreathe", and I love their song "girl named tennessee"

These are some of my all-time favorites. <3
ReplyDeleteDid you know that I was actually supposed to see The Dirty Projectors about two weeks ago in Nashville? It was at an 18+ lounge, but once I drove there (a 2.5h drive nonetheless), I realized I'd forgotten my wallet and they didn't believe that I was over eighteen. It was horrible, though quite the story to tell now.
Have you ever listened to 'Harmonium' by The Shortwave Set?
Safe and Sound is one of my all time favorites!
ReplyDeletei really like camera obscura and the first aid kit. fak is playing in a cool old church in d.c. next month, but it's sold out. my bf is disappointed.
ReplyDeletethis is my end of summer song: summer's over by rialto, an old brit-pop band.
i never actually saw the video before now.
