Friday Finds #31

{GIVEAWAY REMINDER: Click here to enter the triple pumps giveaway! It ends tonight!}
This week I found...

...this image that's made me rethink wearing socks with heels! I'm still not brave enough to consider it myself quite just yet, but I can for sure see the appeal in this picture. Maybe its the lace socks, or the rose petals scattered around:)

...this shot of a state fair is Wisconsin. Can't wait for our very own to start!! (that was Martin's and my first real date:) lots of good fair memories. More to come!

...this amazing 3D screw art! I had to take a second look and then a third. painted screws? seriously?? I'm amazed that he can see it in his head and just make it happen. So neato.

...this soup recipe! Yes! Can't wait for soup season...

...this fall-ish dress from Modloth. Love! Love the print, the collar, the cute little bow. Love.

...this cake. Doesn't it look like heaven and death at the same time? I don't know weather to make it now or run away fast... any rate I'm getting a sugar headache just looking at it.haha
Hersheys chocolate cheesecake. Lord, help me, this looks good!

...the simple design and fabric of this quilt. So little boy, and would be so fast and easy!

...this made me miss the beach so badly! My friend is off where Martin spent our honeymoon (Maui, HI) right now and I'm freakin jealous! Me. Want. Beach! haha love the beach.

  1. Socks and heels are something you really need to try out!! I used to think that it was kind of strange, but then I started doing it and you get used to it and you'll love it, really! It's a great way to add pops of color and texture down there. :)

Also, love all the food you picked out. I've totally seen that amazing cake before and ugh it looks amazing. Is it chocolate and peanut butter...? That's my favorite combination. Ever.

  2. I can't get over that 3D Screw Art... how cool! Oh I am a sushi addict too. I could eat it every day. I need to stay away from that dessert but it does look divine! I'll definitely try that lasagna soup though! Happy Friday!

  5. I don't mind telling you, Emily, I am quite skeptical about wearing socks with heels... I may try the tights with knee-length skirts and heels but beyond that... yeah, I am not sure. :-)

That heart pic. is adorable - and I CANNOT wait for soup "season" either. We have so many yummy, tasty soups that we make.

    2. Aw! Thanks, Emily!

Since I started blogging, off and on, I've considered adding recipes to my posting but so far... I've not! I do have a cookie recipe in my drafts so perhaps I'll post it and see if anyone likes the idea. :-)

My family LOVES a warm bowl of soup in the fall/winter months. We make about two a week and each are tasty - the meal doesn't sound good for the summer months but it's a fave once cold weather hits! YUM!

  9. The shoes with the sock look suer cool for me. I love the style.
The dress brown that you show I love it too. You know Emily that is a kind of dresses that I like but I am very tall 5'11'' and is tough for me find dresses that the long is over the knee. I try to find online but without success. Do you have any suggest sites online that I can explore.
And the chocolate cake mmh! I am hungry for one pieces of that cake.
    Thank You

    1. I'm glad you asked! the internet is so overloaded with merchandise it can be hard to wade through sometimes I know:)
My favorite sites for more modest dresses (to the knee/ calf) would have to be anthropologie.com and shabbyapple.com!
Modcloth does make adorable adorable dresses, but they are on the 'petite' side most of the time.
Give these places a try and let me know what you think!
