I love me a good Monday:) We're really kicking life/things back into gear this week since Martin finished up his treatment cycle on Saturday, we're feeling pretty settled in the house, and the babies are on a good schedule etc, so we thought that by way of a sort of celebration of moving forward that we should do a fun Fall giveaway for you guys!
I'll take one of each please:) It's been over a year since we've done one of these giveaways, and so I knew it needed to be shoes (a classic for The Freckled Fox), it needed to have multiple winners to spread the love, and it needed to be something that I've really been loving myself lately, since that's always top criteria for giveaways on here. That being said, Minnetonka is not a sponsor of this post or this blog, but I have several different types of their moccasins and have used and loved them for years. Everyone should have a pair of these soft and comfy beauties in their closet, especially now that we're into Fall with the leaves turning and the air getting crisp:)
Alright so to enter the giveaway(in case you don't already know the drill), you simply need to comment on this post sharing your favorite Fall tradition or memory, or something Fall related.haha Click that you commented in the widget below, and you're entered!
As you can see there are also a ton of bonus entries for following The Freckled Fox on various social media channels if you feel like upping your chances of winning, and thank you guys so much for all of your amazing support and love! There aren't a lot of ways to literally 'give back' to my people for all the constant encouragement and sweet motivation to keep doing what I love, so I hope you have a great rest of your new week and best of luck:)
We love going mushroom hunting after the first heavy rain, and then cooking up something delicious afterward!

One of the first dates with my husband was wandering in a garden looking at the changing leaves. We lost track of time and it got very dark and on top of it we got lost heading back to the car. It was an adventure we look back on and laugh about fondly.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I love the olden colour <3

Hi Emily, wow I love these shoes. So first of all, fall is my favourite season. I love the changing colour of the leaves, the red, orange, yellow and green.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite memory is from some years ago when I visited castle Herrenchiemsee which is on an island in the lake Chiemsee (Bavaria, Germany). I was there with my mum and our dog. You get to the island by boat. It was a beautiful fall day. The weather was crisp, not cold. So after we arrived there we just walked across the island until we reached the castle. The leaves of the trees were yellow. And there were so many of them already on the ground, or still falling down. I took tons of pictures and one of them turned out as very special: One of the falling leaves fell down right in front of my camera`s lense. This picture with the falling leave in the middle is one of my favourite fall pictures.
But our day on the island turned out even better. We found out that there was an autumn hunt right on this day. So there were lots of riders with red show jackets and hunting dogs. It was so great to watch this take place in such a nice scenery.
It was also a great day for my dog. He got to run around and even swam in the lake. I think he loved it as much as we did.
So this was my favourite fall memory. I hope you enjoyed reading this.
Crunching leaves in the park! Happy fall everyone :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! And so thoughtful!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite fall memories is from 8 years ago: not long after my (now) husband and I first met in college, we went on a roadtrip with some of our roommates, to soak up the last few days of summer and the early days of fall in the Carolinas! It's a memory that I wouldn't mind repeating every year! Thanks Emily!!

I love visiting the pumpkin patches, and finally getting outside!
ReplyDeleteFall means baking. Might try some gluten free pumpkin chocolate bread... or just normal bread, because fresh bread and soup is the best.
ReplyDeleteCrunchy leaves and rich colors. Sweaters and cozy blankets. We love fall!
ReplyDeleteI grew up where there wasn't really "fall weather," but moved to Utah after college. I love having fall with the cool mornings, warm days, and the beautiful leaves changing.
ReplyDeleteAh I love those booties! We are really loving the changing colors & chilly air here on the east coast. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for a chance to enter - I'd have to say one of my favorite fall traditions is going camping with my husband. We always try to go right before it gets freezing cold outside. My other favorite tradition is Thanksgiving at my in-law's house. My husband's sister and her family come into town and we have a great time every year. The biggest "tradition" is the older kids and his father "taste testing" the dressing. There is always a debate about how much sage needs to be added. One year, we had so much sage the dressing actually had a green hue to it before it was all said and done. :)
ReplyDeleteOur favorite fall tradition is going back to the pumpkin patch where we got married every year :)
ReplyDeleteOur favorite fall tradition is going back to the pumpkin patch where we got married every year :)
ReplyDeleteThose grey boots look perfect for crunching through the leaves!

ReplyDeleteOur favorite fall traditions are the normal cliche ones lol. Decorating for fall, pumpkin patches, drives up the canyon to look at the beautiful colors of changing leaves, making pumpkin breads, and pumpkin cookies., buying new halloween books to read to the kiddos, and watching/reading/listening to 'The Monster Mash" 200x's a day! Even though these traditions are similar to what others do I don't mind because it brings our family closer together, and there isn't anyone I'd want to experience the excitement with more than with my sweet little family! Xo
ReplyDeleteour family loves to take walks to the park nearby. we love the fall colors and cool weather. we are from the east coast and in general not a huge fan of humidity so fall is for sure our favorite. and now with the addition of our miracle baby (who is 1 year!!!) we are even more in love with being outdoors! xoxo.
ReplyDeleteMy family's favorite Fall things to do are apple picking at a local orchard and raking up a big pile of leaves to jump in.
ReplyDeleteI love fall! While I don't like the winters in Ohio, I'm grateful for the beautiful fall weather we get. One of my favorite things as a kid was going to pumpkin farms- riding hayrides, drinking warm apple cider, picking out a pumpkin to carve. Now, I drag my husband with me to visit local pumpkin farms so we can get pumpkins to carve and try to find our way through big corn mazes. Once we have kids, it's definitely something I not only want to do but I hope that they will also love it and have amazing memories.
ReplyDeleteWe love watching Halloween movies, like Hocus Pocus & The Nightmare Before Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI love going to the pumpkin patch with my kids.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Fall tradition (other than stocking up on scented candles lol) is going upstate NY to pick out a pumpkin and take in the beautiful foliage and scenery.

ReplyDeletei am obsessed with everything fall! sweaters, boots, and apple picking! :)
ReplyDeleteHalloween is the reason I look forward to fall. I love dressing up and having fun!
ReplyDeleteI love the chill in the air, sweaters, and the overall cozy feeling of fall!
ReplyDeleteHalloween is a really big thing for my family. It will be strange this year as my parents and sister have moved from KS to AZ... but usually it is a big deal. We would all go to my parent's house, they used to live in the city they grew up in. So everyone who would stop by with their kids would stop in and say hi. They would have dinner or dessert. We would make chili and chili dogs ( I have no idea how that became the tradition.. probably because it's easy and makes lots of servings?!). We would make sugar cookies, or pop corn balls, or brownies that looked like spiders, or something festive. We'd dress up and spend way too much time out there before driving home. I'm really going to miss that now... but my husband and I are working hard to create our own traditions that we can start with our someday family. :) XO -Alexandra
ReplyDeleteSimply Alexandra: My Favorite Things
I love when the weather finally gets cold enough to wear a cozy scarf and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, especially since I live in Southern California and we don't really get to experience "fall"
ReplyDeleteFall tradition - getting out all the sweaters, boots, socks, scarves, etc that I literally forgot I had over the summer!! Love being surprised with a "new" wardrobe! ha!
ReplyDeleteLovely horseback rides outside!
ReplyDeleteI love going to the pumpkin patch with my family and spending time carving them all together:)
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful colors and enjoy spending time outside before the long winter forces us indoors!
ReplyDeleteMaking jars and jars of applesauce with my family is my favorite fall memory. My parents would devote an entire Saturday to the endeavor. I've recently started doing the same with my own little family!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fall memory is raking the leaves up at my mom's house and jumping in the HUGE piles. She has 3/4 of an acre and its mostly wooded so we had simply enormous piles by the end of the day. We could tunnel through the leaves and try to jump on top (avoiding the inevitable stick..those always hurt. I'm surprised we never poked any eyes out). I can still smell the scent of crisp brown leaves :)
ReplyDeleteToo many fall favorites! But fall photo shoots, orchards, pumpkin latte's and my birthday!
ReplyDeleteI love going to the pumpkin patch with my family and looking for the perfect pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteI like to go apple picking and follow up with a hay ride.
ReplyDeleteJennifer Rote
Going to my great great grandmothers 1850's home that my parents own in the country. There isn't any central heat and air so to get warm we cuddle up on the couch with a fuzzy blanket, hot cocoa(or coffee), and watch the flames in the fireplace dance.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of fall, love chestnuts, tea, dog rose marmalade... Thank you for the amazing giveaway!
ReplyDeleteBefore I was married, my siblings and I would venture into the tangled depths of an old apple orchard in our backyard and pick the best apples we could find. ReplyDeleteThanks for such a wonderful giveaway! I love fall, especially its long, cool walks, cozy sweaters, nice smelling candles and lots of cuddling <3
ReplyDeleteI am excited for fall because of my little one, Bay. He is finally old enough to get what the holidays mean and get excited for fall fun - like costumes and pumpkin patches. We get to bundle him up in adorable coats and hats, and life seems to sharpen a little in the cold weather, giving my family a much needed break from the hazy days of summer.
ReplyDeleteMy family and I go apple picking! We love when the weather turns cool and we enjoy apple cider donuts at the apple ranch.
ReplyDeleteI love walking to work in the fall! The air is crisp and wakes up my mind! Not to mention the view of the changing colors is good for the soul, and the smell of fall is the best! My fiancé just made pumpkin beer which will be ready just in time for my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving! :) OH, and we get to do family photos/ engagement photos this weekend by the river with all the beautiful colors of Colorado! :) I LOVE FALL!:)
ReplyDeleteFall is the most wonderful time because of the changing leaves and the wonderful colors plus apples!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE the smell of fall. When it is crispy cold outside, the sun is shining, the leaves are falling, and there's that smokey smell that comes with fall. Agh, I look forward to it every year!

ReplyDeleteMaking apple cobbler and eating it on the couch while cuddled up with a blanket and a good book.... ahh it's Fall again yipppeeee! Thanks for an awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy parents live on a golf course and when the leaves change on a windy day everybody goes out and catches the leaves as they fall. Sounds dumb but it is hilarious to watch because the leaves don't just fall straight down. You're constantly falling over because you have to change directions so fast to catch then lol.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Fall traditions is going to the pumpkin patch with my kids and riding the train around the patch. It's such a treat! Even though my kids are getting bigger, we all still look forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI like the change in weather and scenery. :)
ReplyDeleteGrowing up we always looked forward to the fair-and it was always such fun. My Dad didn't do a lot with us growing up but he made sure we went to the fair as a family. As an adult I always enjoyed carrying my little ones to the fair and now that my little girls are in college I still enjoy going with them to the fair and anywhere. Thanks so much for this most generous opportunity.

My favourite fall memory has to be going to the pumpkin patch. My aunt got all my family together the year I got married and we've made it a tradition every year since. I've watched my family and my cousins family grow and change each year as little ones get added and kids grow up. And my Hubster always insists on finding the perfect pumpkin which is pretty amusing to watch him pick through the giant field of pumpkins to find "The One." Gets us good exercise too
ReplyDeleteHi Emily!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Fall ritual is setting up our fire pit and snuggling with my husband and just enjoy each other presence.
I love when its raining leaves... theres something so peaceful & magical about it.
ReplyDeleteFall is my favorite season, because of the cool- moderate temps and for layering clothes.

ReplyDeleteI love these boots, never bought but always admire 😊 Fall is my favorite, just the simple beauty that is everywhere, all the colors. My mother's apple pie and my kids playing in the leaves
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard for me to pick just one thing I love about fall! We recently moved to an acreage in Alberta, Canada and our property is mostly trees - ice absolutely loved watching the leaves change colours this fall, it was so breathtaking! I also love fall fashion - warm sweaters and scarves, plaid plaid and more plaid! I also love snuggling up with my 13 mo old and fiancé by the fireplace as the evenings get colder and darker!
ReplyDeleteI love going hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains when the leaves have changed to enjoy nature!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about fall is the gradual pull that the cooler weather brings to come and gather indoors. I do love being outdoors in the summer, however, the coziness and extra time just gathered with my little family is my favorite of all!
ReplyDeletemy favorite fall tradition is going to the pumpkin patch - “sams pumpkin patch!” we’ve been going since i was born, and now my husband and i go. i look forward to it every year - the man that runs it is getting older now, so i don’t know how many more years it’ll continue (his kids and grandkids are helping him out now), but it just absolutely the best thing about the town we live in!

One of my favorite fall traditions is to make a special cider recipe I learned at a college retreat. The cider is mixed with melted Red Hots candies. It gives it a yummy spicy edge!
ReplyDeleteSince my son was born I have really loved creating Halloween costumes for him and taking pictures at a local farm here with a friend and her son. It works out perfectly since it is my son's 1/2 birthday and fall pictures are just the best with all the colors. Making his costumes gives me even more appreciation for the costumes my mom made for me growing up.
ReplyDeletePicking out pumpkins with my SO is probably my favorite things to do!
ReplyDeleteI get excited for the start of the football season and going to the orchard for apples, cider, and doughnuts!
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of fall I always think of this Casper light up haunted house my mom bought when I was tiny (probably 4). It had green lights and I always looked forward putting it out each year for halloween. Funny the things that stay with you from childhood.
ReplyDeleteProbably going to see the leaves turning and of course hot apple cider
ReplyDeleteOh, a giveaway, how fun! I love apple picking, by far my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI love fall because of flannel shirts, boots, campfires, photoshoots, anticipation for Christmas, and harvest parties. Mostly because of the cool weather and days at home with more of a schedule.
