Maternity Style // Ruched Chambay and Bare Feet

Hey you, welcome back. Martin and I went to the lake in the evening this past week, and I gotta say the warm air was getting pushed aside a bit by a cool breeze coming across the water, and it was really an eye-opener that Fall is coming! I've been thinking a lot lately, thinking back to when we had little Eleanor and I became a mom for the first time, I realized that this new life started of worrying that I'd miss each little milestone on camera, or that I'd feed her a certain kind of food too early, or that heaven forbid I'd not get the chance to dress her in that one little outfit before she got too big. We set such high expectations for ourselves as new moms don't we? And then we're so hard on ourselves when we can't deliver, or check all the lines off that to-do list...
Even though all my little ones are still very young I do have more then a couple, and I've been writing in my journal lately about how far I think I've come in my thinking and in my actions as an almost mother of four. I've been asked questions about mothering so many little ones since I started blogging, and in writing answers and emails back I realized that I wouldn't have had it any other way. I don't wish that I'd been less anal or cautious with my first as I am now and will be with this little one, and I don't wish that I'd not bought all 200 mothering and parenting books that now sit collecting dust on the nursery shelves. I'm pretty sure I'm rambling now...
jewelry - thrifted and clairs
ruched chambray - a gift
bikini - target
skirt -  thrifted

...but I guess to sum it up; we all can only do our best, and even though I feel like I've come a long way, I know that every person I will ever meet will have something I can learn from them, and should! Still rambling... well, I'd really love to share a bit of my mothering experiences with you all, since having four babies in 3 years is a bit unique.haha and considering I have a baby due in less then two months, these days are great for spilling those types of posts. So ask away! I love answering questions and requests in posts because I feel more like I'm actually having a conversation, which is awesome:) I'd love to hear your thoughts, they always make my day.

Thanks for reading, and see you tomorrow!
xo, Emmy

  6. I love reading your blog and one thing I've wondered is how you do it all?! I'm a first time mom to a 9 month old and I struggle to find the energy to keep the house clean, workout, get totally ready every day, maintain friendships, spend quality time with my husband, etc. It's less an issue of time, more of just energy. Some days I just feel so drained and want to chill out in front of the computer when there are so many other things to do. So, I'm just wondering, how do you do it all? What does your schedule look like? Are there any tips you've learned along the way to make things more efficient? Is there anything you've just had to let go of to maintain your sanity? I love love love reading your blog! There's so much good, helpful stuff on here. Thank you!

  7. I am currently pregnant with my first and recently wrote a post like this about the desire to be a super mom. It is so overwhelming all the things I want to do for my baby. All the ways I want to document and remember every moment. I had to reason and prioritize because fact of the matter is I can't do it all and do it well. Great post. You look beautiful as always.

  9. I saw you were a new follower on my Instagram so I headed in over to your blog and I'm
Going to have to pour myself another cup of coffee and stay awhile. Your blog is awesome. Beautiful pics. Congrats on your baby girl! Im a mom to two and like you I think I have all 200 parenting books out on the market right now. Some I've skimmed through, others I haven't touched yet I keep buying the latest ones when they come out. It may be a problem! Thanks for stopping by my Instagram. I'm so glad I found your blog
